Job summary

United Rentals is hiring an Equipment Associate - Field Helper (Seasonal) to support the Heat Division in Canada. In this role you’ll assist Gas Fitters in field installations, conduct safety checks, and help prepare equipment for rental.

The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and hands-on labor to ensure branch operations run smoothly. This seasonal role offers meaningful on‑site work, exposure to a large equipment rental network, and opportunities for advancement into the Driver and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication, multitasking and teamwork skills.
• Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Check heat equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to the branch.
• Assist Gas Fitters in the field by providing general labor support and helping with installation, maintenance, and operations.
• Inspect rental equipment for safety decals and compliance; ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Clean equipment and maintain a clean work area.
• Load/unload equipment and prepare it for rental; drive a delivery truck as needed.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers and support pickup/drop-off activities.

What You'll Do

• Check heat equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to the branch
• Assist Gas Fitters in the field by providing general labor support and helping with installation, maintenance, and operational tasks as required
• Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in good working order
• Clean all equipment and maintain a clean work area
• Load and unload rental equipment, and prepare equipment for rental
• Checkout and demonstrate equipment for customers as well as drive a delivery truck to pick-up and drop-off equipment
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Effective communication, multi-tasking and strong teamwork skills
• Diligent attention to safety
• Superior customer service skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
