Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Associate to perform a variety of manual tasks and provide labor assistance to service technicians, sales staff and other branch personnel meeting customer needs.

You will check equipment on return, inspect for safety, clean equipment, load/unload, and demonstrate gear to customers, including driving a delivery truck for pickup and drop-off. This safety-sensitive role offers strong advancement opportunities through our Driver and Service Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent communication, multitasking and teamwork skills.
• Strong focus on safety and diligence.
• Customer service excellence.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to the branch
• Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in good working order
• Clean all equipment and maintain a clean work area
• Load and unload rental equipment, and prepare equipment for rental
• Checkout and demonstrate equipment for customers as well as drive a delivery truck to pick-up and drop-off equipment
• Other duties assigned as needed
