Job summary

W3Global is seeking an Epic Beaker Analyst to configure and support the Beaker LIS, bridging clinical workflows and IT. The role involves building Beaker CP/AP workflows, managing HL7/FHIR interfaces, and training end-users to optimize lab performance.

The ideal candidate has Epic Beaker Certification, strong lab operations experience, and a good grasp of billing processes. You will work with lab and IT teams to enhance efficiency and accuracy while ensuring compliant practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold Epic Beaker Certification and have hands-on lab operations exposure.
• Understand Beaker configuration, workflows, and interfaces with LIS components.
• Experience with order-to-cash and billing processes in healthcare labs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Familiar with IT change control and HIPAA privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain Beaker CP and AP workflows and templates.
• Manage lab interfaces and data exchanges using HL7/FHIR standards.
• Troubleshoot user issues and handle service requests to maintain uptime.
• Develop validation protocols, perform testing, and plan releases.
• Collaborate with lab directors, IT, and revenue cycle teams to align goals.
• Create training materials and educate staff on Beaker use and new features.
• Drive enhancements to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and UX.

An Epic Beaker Analyst configures, implements, and supports the Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System (LIS), bridging clinical workflows and IT by designing system builds, managing interfaces (like HL7/FHIR), troubleshooting issues, and training users to optimize lab efficiency and revenue cycle, requiring strong Epic Beaker certification and expertise in lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Configuration: Build and maintain Beaker CP (Clinical Pathology) and AP (Anatomical Pathology) workflows, order sets, templates, and logic.
• Integration: Manage interfaces with lab instruments, middleware, and other systems (e.g., EpicCare, Radiology) using standards like HL6/FHIR.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Resolve user-reported issues, manage service requests, and perform system maintenance.
• Testing & Validation: Develop and execute validation protocols, regression testing, and manage release planning.
• Collaboration: Work with lab directors, IT teams, revenue cycle, and end-users to align system functionality with operational and financial goals.
• Training: Develop training materials and educate clinical staff on system usage and new functionality.
• Optimization: Drive enhancements to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and the user experience.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Epic Beaker Certification (required).
• Experience in laboratory operations (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, etc).
• Strong understanding of order-to-cash processes, billing, and coding.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
