Hatfield is seeking an Environmental Technician to become part of our Environmental Monitoring and Assessment team in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This position is based out of our North Vancouver office and may require travel throughout British Colombia and Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Implement aquatic baseline studies, operational and compliance monitoring programs, aquatic impact assessments, and habitat offsetting and restoration initiatives.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams of environmental specialists and technicians to effectively deliver programs in conformance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in field programs focused on environmental monitoring and assessment of aquatic habitats across British Columbia and Alberta.
  • Compile, manage, and interpret environmental data, and support the development of technical reports.
  • Provide directed support on proposal development, project scheduling, and budget management activities.
  • Work extensively in the field, occasionally in remote locations.

Education And Experience

  • Environmental diploma, B.Sc., or working towards a higher degree in environmental sciences.
  • 1-2 years of progressive work experience, preferably in a professional consulting context.
  • General knowledge of federal and provincial environmental legislation and environmental impact assessment processes.
  • A valid driver’s license, experience driving a pickup truck, and ability to be added to our company’s third-party automobile insurance policy.
