Job description

Groupe Conseil UDA is looking for an environmental technician (characterization and environmental rehabilitation) in the Quebec region to complete its multidisciplinary team composed of agricultural and forestry engineers, agronomists, biologists, geographers, geomatics specialists and technicians.

Permanent - Full time // PROFILE: $24.50 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that work complies with plans and specifications, authorizations and applicable regulations;
  • Ensure that mitigation measures and good environmental practices are implemented;
  • Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment and residual material samples;
  • Participate in field inspections as part of Phase I environmental assessments and prepare proposals as needed;
  • Describe the characteristics, properties and composition of soils;
  • Record observations (notes, photos, etc.) in a daily site report;
  • Participate in meetings with the contractor and the client;
  • Work in collaboration with all departments of the company to carry out projects;
  • Promote and implement the occupational health and safety prevention program;

Requirements and Training

  • College diploma (DEC) or AEC or university diploma related to the environment;
  • More than 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Practical experience in site environmental monitoring;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing;
  • Have completed the General Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP-Construction) course;
  • Access to a car and a valid driver's license;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Demonstrate an interest in and sensitivity to health and safety at work;
