Who We Are:
NexGold Mining Corp. is a gold-focused exploration and development company with assets in Canada. NexGold has two 100%-owned near-term gold projects, the Goliath Gold Complex in northwestern Ontario and the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia. The Goliath Gold Complex has received federal government permission to proceed on final authorizations and permits, following successful completion of the environmental assessment process. The Goldboro Gold Project, a significant growth project subject to a positive Feasibility Study, has received its environmental assessment approval from the Nova Scotia Minister of Environment and Climate Change; a significant regulatory milestone.
The Opportunity:
Based at Goliath Gold Complex office near Dryden, ON, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Technician Co-op Student to join our NexGold team, reporting to the Manager of Environment & Regulatory Affairs or designate.
The Environmental Technician Co-op Student will support environmental field programs at the Goliath Gold Complex. This is an exciting opportunity to work with exploration teams onsite and support the continued development and establishment of environmental and regulatory programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence, while also applying foundational environmental management skills to the role, conducting field sampling programs following protocols, including relevant data entry and reporting requirements in a timely manner. This opportunity requires supporting protocols to meet or exceed environmental performance standards and demonstrating a high degree of initiative and organizational skills in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence;
• Work and communicate within a team environment towards well-defined objectives;
• Complete field sampling programs such as surface water quality sampling, groundwater quality sampling and stream flow measurements, and ensure all environmental protocols are observed, input into a variety of programs and reported on a timely basis;
• Support an understanding of environmental performance within the site team and promote a culture which meets or exceeds protocols;
• Advocate company performance internally as well as to our stakeholders, as required;
• Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data to ensure quality standards are met;
• Aid in the preparation of internal and external environmental documents; and
• Additional responsibilities or tasks as reasonably assigned.
What You Bring:
Must-Haves
• Enrolled in a co-op program from a recognized college or university in Canada;
• Currently taking a degree or diploma in an applicable environmental or related field;
• Competent in using Microsoft Office and other communication and data entry platforms;

• Valid driver’s license equivalent to G2 or higher in Ontario; and
• Meets the eligibility criteria for grant program funding:
- Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada, or Protected Person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
-Legally entitled to work in Canada and according to relevant Ontario legislation and regulations.
Ideally
• Previous experience conducting work within a field-based environment; and
• Experience in a mining or industrial environment.
