About

Responsibilities

  1. Business Development
    • Build client relationships through identifying market opportunities, client communications, proposal preparation, and business development activities.
    • Identify and pursue business opportunities within the marketplace where Dillon might succeed in securing work assignments.
    • Contribute to proposals through budget development and proposal writing.
    • Collaborate with staff across Canada for project delivery, client relationship development, and opportunity/project research.
  2. Technical Practice, Project Management & Design
    • Lead the scoping, development, and execution of environmental permitting and project approval programs, including research, fieldwork, and technical report writing.
    • Support the development of environmental assessments registration documents, compensation/offsetting plans, and related environmental permitting at provincial and federal levels.
    • Scope, plan, develop, and implement assessment programs for various projects across sectors.
    • Coordinate project team activities, provide direction, and contribute to staff development.
  3. Learning & Development
    • Continuously develop technical skills and business acumen.
    • Contribute to the career development of less experienced staff through technical guidance, training, coaching, and mentoring.
    • Participate actively in professional associations to enhance Dillon’s corporate profile.

Qualifications

  1. University degree or post-secondary diploma in environmental, physical science, or engineering discipline.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, industrial, regulatory, or related fields, with emphasis on environmental permitting.
  3. Valid driver’s license (Class 5).
  4. Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  5. Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
  6. Deep knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, and permitting processes.
  7. Experience in preparing regulatory applications and submissions.
  8. General knowledge of environmental and social science disciplines, with focus on potential environmental effects and mitigation.
  9. Expertise in related technical disciplines (e.g., ecology, biology, air quality) is an asset.
  10. Experience in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement is an asset.
  11. Strong project management and client relationship skills.
  12. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  13. Commitment to project quality and meeting deadlines.
