Dillon’s Geoscience Practice is looking for an Intermediate Environmental Site Assessment/Excess Soils Professional to join our multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Data Management
- Serve as the power user and subject matter expert for data related software used for geoscience projects, including ESDAT and TabLogs. Activities would include database administration, configuration, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and generate reports, visualizations, and summaries of environmental data for internal and external stakeholders, leveraging ESDAT's reporting functionalities.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize data management systems, reporting, and visualizations, with a focus on reporting efficiencies and automation.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide expert technical support and guidance to team members on ESDAT, TabLogs, and other data management tools.
- Lead and mentor junior staff in best practices for environmental data management, including data entry, QA/QC procedures, and the effective use of ESDAT, TabLogs, and other software.
Technical Project Delivery
- Provide technical support for projects related to the assessment and management of environmental contaminants in soil, groundwater, and other media, phased environmental site assessments (ESAs), the Record of Site Condition (O.Reg. 153/04 RSC) process, and remediation in Ontario.
- Lead and/or contribute to technical work relating to excess soils management in Ontario (O.Reg. 406/19), including assessments, sampling plans, reports, and strategy development.
- Oversee/support environmental site assessment and excess soils management teams on infrastructure, land development, and due diligence projects, including report writing, data interpretation, and deliverables review.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and regulations.
- Manage field programs, prepare contracts, oversee sub-contractors, and organize field teams.
- Work with senior specialists on data management, presentation, and client communication.
- Manage multiple projects involving environmental teams.
Business Development
- Respond to RFPs related to contaminated sites and excess soils to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, regulators, service providers, and stakeholders.
- Travel and fieldwork may be required.
Learning & Development
- Commit to ongoing technical and professional development.
- Mentor and support less experienced staff.
- Participate in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed
- Five or more years of environmental consulting or related experience, including project management.
- Degree in environmental engineering, geoscience, or relevant field.
- Eligibility for professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo) in Ontario within six months is an asset.
- Knowledge of Ontario regulations (e.g., O.Reg. 153/04, 406/19).
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with data management and Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in site characterization, reporting, and health and safety.
- Additional skills in geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, remediation, etc., are assets.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain security clearance.
