The Role:

Next Environmental is currently seeking anEnvironmental Site Investigation Team Member to join our team based in the Lower Mainland / Greater Vancouver Area.As a junior position, what you say counts and what you do matters.The successful candidate will join our growing Contaminated Sites team.

You will receive excellent on-the-job training and immediately become an important team member. Don't worry about working alone, because you will have a network of team members to help you along the way who have extensive experience in the field! Your main job responsibilities are:

  • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, (also known as Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations), Detailed Site Investigations, underground tank removals, confirmatory sample, and other types of projects dealing with a variety of contaminants;
  • Conducting field work, learning the regulations, interpreting data, writing reports, and assisting your team and senior staff in regulatory applications or submissions;
  • You will be relied on to improve your understanding of the technical and regulatory facets of your chosen career, and provided with support to learn and grow; and
  • You will enjoy the satisfaction and appreciation of resolving client business problems and environmental roadblocks in a creative and efficient manner.

The Qualifications

  • A degree in environmental or civil engineering, environmental or environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, geology or agrology;
  • Eligible to apply for a professional designation (professional in-training)is an asset (EIT, GIT, BIT, CIT, etc.), but not required;
  • Have a confident presence and strong communication skills. You are excited about providing a positive client experience, and the responsibility that comes with it;
  • Be a talented multitasker;
  • Have a self-starter attitude. You are someone who is comfortable taking action where there will not always be clarity – you have good judgment and always push things forward;
  • Thrive when working with other individuals and teams;
  • Be a resilient, strong individual performer who is energized by meeting individual and team targets and contributing to the team's success; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle.

  • The expected salary range for this opportunity is $53,000 - $58,000 depending on the candidate’s experience and will constantly be re-evaluated based on merit and market conditions;
