Island Health is seeking a dedicated cleaning staff member focused on ensuring patient and staff safety through thorough cleaning practices. The role includes various cleaning tasks, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment in accordance with established standards. Candidates should have at least a Grade 10 education and effective communication skills.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Using a variety of specialized equipment, tools and machines, performs light and heavy cleaning duties, such as dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, washing, mopping, stripping, polishing and wiping; makes beds and empties garbage in accordance with established policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGrade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
