Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority in Comox Valley is seeking a casual Cleaner dedicated to patient and staff safety. Using a variety of equipment, you will perform cleaning tasks to maintain hygienic, safe environments in accordance with established policies.

Duties include dusting, vacuuming, washing, mopping, shampooing floors, making beds and emptying garbage, with attention to detail and quality. A Grade 10 education is required and a Criminal Record Check is necessary.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Deal with others effectively.
• Physically carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform dusting, vacuuming, washing and mopping.

Using a variety of specialized equipment, tools and machines, performs light and heavy cleaning duties, such as dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, washing, mopping, stripping, polishing and wiping; makes beds and empties garbage in accordance with established policies and procedures.
