Summary
Responsible for patient transfers as requested. Responsible for equipment, supplies, chart and lab test transfers as required. Dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming and machine scrubbing. Buffing, burnishing, stripping, waxing and refinishing floors as needed. Wall washing, vent, light and ceiling cleanings, etc. according to schedule. Changing curtains as needed or as per schedule. Waste and recycling removal. Contribute to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.'
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a janitorial/housekeeping position, preferably in an institutional environment an asset
- Must be able to perform duties efficiently under limited supervision
- Ability to operating machinery – buffers, floor scrubbers, etc.
- Good attendance record
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to push, pull and lift heavy equipment
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to walk and stand constantly
- Able to perform bending and climbing
- Able to work quickly and accurately in an organized fashion
- Able to deal tactfully with employees, patients, and the public '
