Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of Environmental Services Supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of housekeeping procedures and laundry management with emphasis on Infection Control and Health & Safety.
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
• Understanding of budgeting processes and awareness of profit and loss concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain responsibility and accountability for Personnel Management Functions of the department (interviews, hiring, evaluation, and occasional termination).
• Coordinate and support housekeeping and porter services with emphasis on Infection Control and Safety.
• Manage the site budget and related costs.
• Develop and follow policies, procedures and routines for the site.
• Conduct regular inventory of housekeeping supplies and order within budget.
• Ensure staff attendance and document lateness or absence.
• Document call offs and arrange shift replacements and breaks.
• Prepare and distribute assignment sheets and communicate changes.
• Assign keys, radios and beepers, and maintain security records.
• Inspect equipment and instruct staff to correct deficiencies.
• Assist staff to maintain high cleanliness and service standards and train as needed.
