Environmental Services Aide (Housekeeping Aide / Laundry Aide)

  • Demonstrated dexterity and efficient work methods.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor, the Environmental Services Aide performs laundry and housekeeping tasks according to policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring safety and infection control standards are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training and orienting new staff and students.
  • Ensuring consistency and quality of service across the department.
  • Cleaning assigned areas per schedules and infection control guidelines.
  • Performing extra cleaning duties as needed.
  • Conducting inspections for cleanliness and equipment functionality.
  • Performing cleaning tasks: washing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, dusting.
  • Cleaning beds, mattresses, waste receptacles, and maintaining housekeeping carts.
  • Handling laundry: collecting, washing, drying, folding, transporting, and minor repairs.
  • Restocking supplies, assisting with inventory, and participating in quality audits.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
