Job Summary

If you join us as an Environmental Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing the Compass One Environmental Service Management program.
• Conducting weekly quality assurance audits in housekeeping and laundry, and following up with staff, involving the manager as needed.
• Implementing and leading training sessions, and coordinating an annual training calendar for housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Reviewing routines, programs, and systems for continuous quality improvement in housekeeping and laundry.
• Ensuring the safety program is in place, including trained first aiders, active OH&S committee, and regular training and audits.
• Training staff on infection control protocols and ensuring compliance.
• Recruiting, hiring, managing performance, and disciplining housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Participating in client meetings relevant to housekeeping and laundry areas.
• Completing monthly summaries of quality assurance activities and submitting reports to relevant managers and clients.
• Participating actively in the facility's Health and Safety Committee.
• Interacting with suppliers and vendors related to housekeeping and laundry services.
• Contributing to budgeting and financial management of the departments.
• Ensuring all HR programs are implemented, including CHAT, Be-A-Star, HERO, Weekly Safety Minders, etc.
• Conducting accident investigations and recommending return-to-work programs.
• Recommending equipment and supplies for operations.
• Performing daily physical maintenance, including floor care, cleaning, and seasonal snow removal.
• Contributing to the Balanced Scorecard for the unit.
• Regularly meeting with the client and attending meetings as needed.
• Leading and coordinating schedules for special environmental projects.
