Senior Project Technologist

Hazardous Materials

Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Senior Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Mississauga or Toronto office.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Project Technologist will assist in developing hygiene, health, and safety documentation, prepare technical reports, and liaise with clients to meet their needs and goals.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Project Technologist at Pinchin:

  1. Complete assessments for hazardous materials, designated substances, and workplace exposures.
  2. Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific concerns.
  3. Perform inspections and evaluate building systems and materials.
  4. Use various equipment to record measurements and collect samples.
  5. Identify and sample suspect asbestos, lead, and PCB-containing materials.
  6. Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations.
  7. Inspect abatement and restoration contractors to ensure proper completion of hazardous materials work.
  8. Collect and analyze Phase Contrast Microscope (PCM) asbestos air samples.
  9. Engage in business development with existing clients.
  10. Maintain and improve quality control within the group.
  11. Liaise between clients and contractors, maintaining and building relationships.
  12. Schedule field reviews with clients and contractors.
  13. Ensure safety and well-being of workers and occupants during projects.
  14. Support training of junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
  • Three to five years of experience in Hazardous Materials (Asbestos, Mould, Lead, PCBs, etc.).

  • Potential requirement for security clearances and drug testing.
