Job Description

Norton Rose Fulbright, a global law firm known for its strategic focus and innovative culture, is seeking an experienced environmental lawyer with at least 8 years of practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental, energy, and natural resources law, with experience advising on complex matters involving infrastructure, renewable energy, and power projects. This role supports project finance and M&A transactions, working with developers, sponsors, and lenders. Preference is given to candidates with experience in California and Texas, but all U.S. offices are considered.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for lawyers interested in law, policy, finance, and emerging areas like carbon markets and energy transition projects.

Key Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of experience with U.S. federal and state environmental regulatory programs.
  • Expertise in project and facility permitting, environmental review processes (NEPA, CEQA), contaminated site management, transactional due diligence, and environmental risk allocation.
  • Ability to coordinate with project finance counsel, developers, and lenders on environmental issues affecting bankability.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing environmental reports, familiarity with land use law, ESA, habitat conservation, and energy transition technologies.
Compensation:

The full-time annual salary ranges from $250,000 to $450,000 in major markets, with variation depending on location. Bonus opportunities are based on performance.
