Job summary

Hatch seeks an Environmental Scientist / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Calgary to join the Environment, People, and Place team. You will contribute to ecological studies, environmental assessments, and stakeholder coordination across projects.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s or advanced diploma in a related field with 0–2 years of consulting experience, travel flexibility, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Biology or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in a fast-paced, consulting environment; field experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and impact assessment processes is preferred.
• Flexibility to travel periodically.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to baseline ecological or environmental studies and assessments.
• Collect and synthesize scientific literature and data for reports.
• Identify environmental impacts and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support permitting related to natural environment.
• Coordinate with environmental specialists across disciplines.
