Job Description

We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a team of over 550 advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 locations in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical disciplines to help clients address complex challenges around sustainability.

As our new Early Career Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Technologist in Saskatoon, you will play an important role on a team focused on assessing, monitoring, managing, and remediating contaminated sites. Your work will involve diverse projects at urban and remote sites, including oil and gas facilities, commercial properties, and municipal sites. You will assist in the full project lifecycle, including budgeting, planning, data analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in environmental or contaminated site projects, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, and long-term monitoring.
• Lead fieldwork involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, vapours, and surface water.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Support project planning, coordination, reporting, and schedule/budget tracking.
• Assist with technical and financial proposal preparation.

Qualifications and Education

• Degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or related fields.
• At least 1 year of experience in contaminated site work, including assessments, sampling, and remediation.
• Passion for fieldwork and willingness to work away from home, sometimes up to 2 weeks.
• Knowledge of health & safety requirements related to oil and gas, construction, and contaminated sites.
• Ability to work independently and in small teams, including remote locations.
• Professional status or eligibility (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., E.I.T., G.I.T., P.Tech) is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license for travel to sites.
