As a Environmental Scientist, you will join our Edmonton, Alberta office(s) as part of our Western Ecological Services team for a 4 month term starting June 2025. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of soil, vegetation, wetlands and wildlife projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Active participation in maintaining Montrose strong safety culture

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of soil surveys, vegetation and wetland surveys, and various wildlife surveys

  • Assist with field survey data management

  • Assist with the preparation of reports

  • Travel, often to remote locations, will be required to carry out field programs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Working towards a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institute.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an affinity for working respectfully with colleagues and clients at all levels.

  • A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.

  • Experience with off-highway vehicles (i.e., ARGO, UTV) and trailer towing would be considered an asset

  • Cares about their safety and the safety of others

  • Brings knowledge of terrestrial sciences and assessment practices

  • Ability to be productive while working independently as well as in a team setting.

  • Is thoughtful, thorough and inquisitive in completing office and field tasks

  • Has energy and desire to support others and respond to the changing needs of a dynamic environment

This is a permanent position with an hourly rate range of $24.00-$32.00, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
