The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Remediation Project Coordinator to join our national Remediation Program Management (RPM) team.

This is an opportunity to join a diverse and growing team within WSP supporting key clients in managing contaminated sites in Ontario. You will assist project managers and clients in designing and overseeing field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating sites impacted by hydrocarbons, as well as preparing technical reports. Why Remediation Program Management?

Our RPM team is one of Canada's most established and exciting environmental teams, with over 15 years of experience serving technically focused clients. We handle projects nationwide, ranging in size and complexity, providing ongoing growth opportunities for team members. Our expertise includes health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment, and remediation.

A typical day as a WSP Project Coordinator includes:

  • Creating a safe and positive environment for colleagues.

  • Collaborating with project managers to:
    • Prepare health and safety and emergency response plans.
    • Develop proposals and cost estimates.
    • Schedule field staff and subcontractors.
    • Compile data for reports.
    • Write reports, conclusions, and recommendations.
    • Conduct field investigations and oversee site remediation.
    • Train junior staff in environmental practices and safety procedures.
  • Collaborating across the national RPM team and WSP.
  • Inspiring team commitment to our principles and vision.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to technicians.
  • Developing a personal career development plan.

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or university degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in contaminated site assessment, soil and groundwater sampling.
  • 1-3 years in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make recommendations.
  • Willingness to grow within the RPM team.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
