Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) is seeking an Environmental Planner based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to join our Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team. This role supports day-to-day environmental projects across sectors, with opportunities to engage in reporting, permitting, and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in environmental discipline (env science, engineering, ecology or policy).
  • 3–5 years experience; asset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical writing; ability to synthesize technical information.
  • Understanding of environmental regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Travel within Canada may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day environmental impact assessment, permitting, compliance and due diligence projects across sectors and geographies.
  • Report writing, research and desktop studies; potential participation in field programs.
  • Multidisciplinary team coordination; compilation of documents for regulatory submissions.
  • Implement consultation and engagement programs with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
  • Support business development; proposals and pre-qualification submissions.
  • Assist with project management duties including budget, scope and schedule tracking.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative work environment.

  • Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • 3-5 years experience, considered an asset

We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are looking for an Environmental Planner to play an important role on our Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team. If you are an early-career professional, we want to hear from you.

Your Specific Responsibilities Will Include
  • Supporting day-to-day implementation of small to large-scale multidisciplinary environmental impact assessment, permitting, compliance and due diligence projects across multiple sectors and geographies
  • Report writing, research and desktop studies, with potential for participation in some field programs
  • Multidisciplinary team coordination including compilation of technical documents to support regulatory submissions
  • Implementing consultation and engagement programs, including effectively communicating with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Supporting business development activities, such as contributing to proposals and pre-qualification submissions
  • Assisting with project management duties including budget, scope and schedule tracking
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation.

  • An understanding of international environmental and social impact assessment standards, guidelines and processes is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada periodically, as required.
