  • Post-secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law / policy)
  • 5+ years experience in environmental consulting
  • Experience with permitting and approvals within Alberta is preferred
  • Based in Alberta, with flexible location options (Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie)

We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability, we are Making Sustainability Happen.Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Environmental Planner to play an important role on our Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team. Key Responsibilities Your specific responsibilities will include :

  • Work with our team on permitting and approvals for a variety of projects across sectors
  • Project management duties including client relations, budget, scope, and schedule tracking
  • Supporting day-to-day implementation of small to large-scale multidisciplinary environmental impact assessment, permitting, compliance and due diligence projects across multiple sectors and geographies,
  • Report writing, research and desktop studies, with potential for participation in some field programs,
  • Multidisciplinary team coordination including compilation of technical documents to support regulatory submissions,
  • Supporting business development activities, such as contributing to proposals and pre-qualification submissions, and
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law / policy)
  • 5+ years experience within the environmental or related field required
  • experience in Project Management
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong technical writing skills, with an ability to synthesize technical information and develop plain language summaries,
  • An understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Experience in a similar role in an environmental consulting environment is considered an asset
