Our esteemed Environmental Permitting and Management team is expanding, with a focus on infrastructure, power, and renewables projects. We seek an Environmental Permitting Specialist to support energy and infrastructure projects, especially in the nuclear sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with environmental standards, regulations, assessments, and permitting in Canada. This is a mid-level role based in Ontario, with consideration for other locations nationwide.

Our work involves managing projects throughout their lifecycle—from initial assessment to regulatory approval, compliance during construction, and operational management. Our team collaborates to ensure social acceptance and environmental commitments are met.

Your role within the team :

  • Manage and deliver environmental permitting activities, especially within the energy (nuclear preferred) sector, as part of a broader project team.
  • Coordinate obtaining and maintaining environmental approvals from municipal, provincial, and federal agencies.
  • Lead project scope, budget, schedule, and quality oversight.
  • Develop and implement consultation and engagement programs, including with First Nations and Indigenous communities.
  • Manage external subcontractors effectively.
  • Delegate tasks and guide junior staff, providing technical supervision.
  • Assist in developing proposals and business development activities.
  • Engage with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Support growth in environmental planning and assessment markets.

The ideal candidate :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Planning, Science, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience managing environmental assessments and permits, preferably in nuclear energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with nuclear regulators is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental project management, including budgeting, scope, and scheduling.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Experience in fast-paced engineering or consulting environments.
  • Membership in professional bodies (e.g., RPP, PMP, EP) is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
