Role Details

As an Environmental Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Site HSE Manager to ensure environmental monitoring, reporting, and compliance requirements are met, reduce environmental risks, and promote a culture of sustainability. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a proactive mindset, particularly within industrial or manufacturing environments.

What you'll do

  • Investigate and close out environmental incidents and complaints.
  • Compile and submit regulatory reports (Annual Return, NPI, NGER, etc.).
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and tools.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to promote environmental awareness and best practices.
  • Assist in planning and preparing for external audits and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate environmental data and documentation.

What You Will Bring

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the pulp and paper industry or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and ISO HSE Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence in liaising with regulators, consultants, and community groups.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
