Job description

Overview

Do you have the ambition, enthusiasm and technical capability to work with us as a Environmental Manager? Our highly respected and successful Environmental Assessment & Community Engagement team has an ever‑growing portfolio of work built on technical excellence and exceptional service to our clients, particularly in power and renewables projects. As a result, we are seeking a like‑minded individual with at least 7 years of relevant experience to join our growing team in British Columbia.

Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approval processes, to environmental monitoring and compliance management through construction and operations. Our team works collaboratively on projects to gain social acceptance and manage our clients’ commitments to the environment and sustainable development.

Your role

Your day‑to‑day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental and heritage risks, coordinating subject‑matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards, and provision of time‑sensitive construction phase tasks where quick response times are critical.

  • Oversee and/or complete project environmental obligations and deliverables according to contract terms and quality standards, including subconsultant and subcontractor management, as the Project Manager or Environmental Manager.

  • Develop, prepare and maintain project/task schedules and budgets for the environmental component of projects, monitor project progress, work hours, budgets and expenditures using project scheduling and cost control tools, and delegate tasks and activities to intermediate and junior staff with technical and possibly supervisory guidance.

  • Oversee or prepare environmental permit applications and technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements.

  • Assist or lead development of proposals and other business development related activities.

  • Liaise with the client and support relationship management on behalf of, and as directed by, clients with Project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.

  • Oversee or conduct field work, including environmental monitoring, field studies, research, and data collection.

  • Support environmental compliance and management system auditing programs.

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive environmental consulting experience, including construction‑phase environmental management and regulatory permitting.
  • Professional designation (Full or Provisional membership) with a regulatory body under the Professional Governance Act in British Columbia. Project management certification or eligibility (PMP or CAPM) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, permitting processes and environmental management systems, supported by excellent communication skills and proven client and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental scopes of work, including budgeting, scheduling, regulatory approvals, compliance monitoring and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license.
