Job description

Tomlinson Industrial Waste Division is looking for a passionate, strategic and Environmental leader to fill the role of Environmental Managerfor ourOttawa operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all sites are operating within their respective certificates of approval
  • Verify waste stream characterization to ensure compliance with Reg. 347
  • Familiarity with Reg. 347 and153
  • Supervise lab staff and ensure that lab equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
  • Provide technical expertise to the sales group
  • Responsible for quality control for all inbound/outbound waste
  • Amend manifests as required
  • Oversee waste processing activities (bulking, blending, neutralization, etc.)
  • Categorize waste streams
  • Source and negotiate best possible disposal options for various waste streams
  • Develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers
  • Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of current provincial and federal regulations relating to the Environmental industry
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of Chemistry
  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or Chemistry
