You will assist clients in meeting regulatory and liability obligations for oil & gas assets, working with Project Managers and clients to meet AER’s Liability Management Framework, guiding assessments, updates, and deliverables throughout asset lifecycle.

What You Can Expect to Do
  • Work closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Technical Leads, and field teams.
  • Review environmental assessments, including investigations and understanding site status per Alberta Contaminated Lands Framework.
  • Prepare liability assessments following current AER requirements.
  • Apply quality assurance/quality control measures.
  • Prepare deliverables and utilize AER’s OneStop for report submissions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years’ experience in environmental assessment and contaminated sites; field experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Site-Specific Liability Assessments (SSLA) under AER frameworks.
  • Cost estimating experience related to Provisions/Asset Retirement Obligations.
  • Experience in due diligence for oil & gas transactions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental sciences, earth sciences, engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel/Access for data analysis.
  • Professional registration (e.g., APEGA, EGBC, AIA, ASET) preferred.
