Job summary

Mercor is partnering with a leading legal AI company to conduct a blinded human-preference study. We are hiring experienced environmental lawyers to read a realistic legal matter, review six AI-generated work products, and record which they prefer with written reasoning.

You will read a synthetic matter, review blinded deliverables, and perform five head-to-head comparisons with a common comparator output, followed by concise rationales for each preference.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with substantive practice experience in NEPA/CERCLA or related environmental law areas.
• Ability to judge work product holistically — correctness, completeness, judgment, usefulness.
• Precise written English.
• Able to work independently to written instructions and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents.
• Review six blinded AI deliverables (A–F) for the matter.
• Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output.
• Write a short, specific rationale for every preference.
