Job summary

City of North Bay invites applications for the position of Landfill Attendant – Environmental (Temporary Part-Time). Reporting to the Landfill Operations Supervisor, the attendant is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring and environmental compliance of the Merrick Landfill Site.

This on-site, on-call role requires a minimum one-year environmental science diploma, six months landfill experience, forklift training, and a valid Ontario G license.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year diploma in environmental science or related field.
• Six months' landfill or related experience.
• Forklift training certificate.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's license.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with the public; good communication skills.
• Cash handling experience.
• Sufficient clerical ability to complete daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation, monitoring and environmental compliance of the Merrick Landfill Site.
• Report and document activities as required.
• Coordinate with Landfill Operations Supervisor as needed.
