Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (trained cleaner/housekeeper in healthcare settings). The role requires dedication to high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office spaces, and other common areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Description:

As an Environmental Services II, you will be responsible for various tasks associated with intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or healthcare facility, including the use of industrial cleaning supplies and powered industrial equipment. Your duties may include operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance, thoroughly washing ceilings and windows, and disposing of hazardous waste. You may also provide training or orientation to other environmental staff.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent

- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs

Additional Required Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills, able to follow oral and written instructions
- Basic knowledge of computers and smartphones
- Dependable with the ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience
- Healthcare environment cleaning experience is an asset.
