Qualifications

• 0-2+ years experience in an EHS role within a Manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills for building reports, including EHSIP and other programs.

Responsibilities

• Update and create documentation using various software.
• Maintain SDS/Hazcom data, Accident Reports, and corrective actions.
• Provide training on environmental and safety topics to staff.
• Prepare reports for agencies and internal docs.
• Maintain records as required by agencies.
• Oversee the Personal Protective Equipment program.
• Assist in developing new EHS programs and procedures.
• Support continual improvement of the EHS Department.
• Oversee Ergonomics Program and conduct workstation audits.
• Oversee Fire Suppression and Extinguisher Inspection programs.
• Assist in Emergency Response Program reviews.
• Follow safety, health, and security procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

This role is onsite and will work a rotating 12 hr day shift 5am-5pm: Wednesday-Saturday Week 1/Thursday- Saturday Week 2

This role is to support anew factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up.Site to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.

How will you make an impact?

The EHS Technician will perform necessary assessments, inventories, and inspections for various environmental and safety regulations.

What will you do?

• Utilize various software programs for performing updates to existing documents and creating new documentation.

• Maintain data pertaining to SDS or Hazcom, Accident Reports, and corrective action.

• Assist or provide specialized training classes pertaining to environmental and/or safety-related subjects to various personnel within the company.

• Prepare various reports for agencies and internal documentation.

• Maintain files and documentation records as required by various agencies.

• Control and oversee the Personal Protective Equipment program.

• Assist in developing new programs and procedures as needed.

• Work within established guidelines for the continual improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety Department.

• Oversee the Ergonomics Program and conduct workstation audits.

• Oversee the Fire Suppression and Extinguisher Inspection Program.

• Assist in reviewing and participating in the Emergency Response Program.

• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.

• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s in EHS or a related discipline is preferred (or at least in the midst of obtaining a related degree).

Experience

• 0-2+ years experience in an EHS role within a Manufacturing environment.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong computer skills (for building reports) including EHSIP and other programs.

The hourly pay range for this role is $23.89 - $43.03. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
