Job summary

WSP is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to join its Mine Water & Environment team in Canada. Based in BC, Alberta, or Yukon, you will support contaminated site projects from characterization to remediation design across local and international sites.

You will lead investigations, develop site models, deliver plans and specifications, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for diverse mine-impacted lands.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, or related discipline.
• Progressive contaminated site investigation and remediation experience.
• Professional registration or eligibility as PE or PGeo.
• Project management in contamination characterization, remediation design, budgets & schedules.
• Strong knowledge of environmental chemistry, geology, fate & transport.
• Experience drafting specs, design drawings and remediation reports.
• Field program planning with northern/remote project experience.
• Mentor staff and contribute to proposals and practice growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead contaminated site investigation and remediation at legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites.
• Develop conceptual site models from data to guide remediation decisions.
• Deliver remediation plans, technical specs, reports, and presentations.
• Manage day-to-day project delivery with technical leads and client teams.
• Coordinate field programs in northern/remote environments with safety controls.
• Mentor early-career staff and strengthen the practice.
