Job summary

Alberta Environment and Protected Areas is seeking an Engagement and Education Specialist to lead public engagement and education initiatives. You will collaborate with internal teams and external groups to design meaningful opportunities, gather feedback, and report on findings.

This role emphasizes strategic thinking and building trust with diverse communities across Alberta. You will develop engaging resources, workshop formats, surveys and educational materials to support ministry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4 years of related experience or a combination as described.
• Experience in public-sector engagement is asset.
• Experience building partnerships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Experience designing engagement and education materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement planning processes with outcomes, timelines and evaluation.
• Apply IAP2 principles to engagement processes and reporting.
• Map stakeholders and analyze interests, risks and impacts.
• Design and deliver in-person and online engagement opportunities and surveys.
• Develop accessible education materials for Albertans.
• Coordinate with communities and external organizations to extend reach.
