Job summary

Job description

You will play an important role in a dynamic and passionate team, collaborating on a variety of projects of all sizes and scopes in the environment, renewable energies, hydroelectricity, transportation, materials, buildings and climate change markets. Your Main Responsibilities
  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety policies and procedures across all field, office, and project activities;
  • Support a range of environmental projects, including Phase I & II ESAs, contaminated sites investigations, remediation, and environmental monitoring programs;
  • Conduct fieldwork such as soil, groundwater, surface water, vapor, and sediment sampling, as well as construction and groundwater monitoring;
  • Assist with hazardous materials and indoor air quality assessments, including inspections, air monitoring, and sample collection;
  • Provide field support for remediation and abatement projects, including contractor coordination, site monitoring, and documentation of activities;
  • Contribute to natural environment projects (e.g., wetlands, watercourses, species at risk) through field assessments and ecological data collection;
  • Complete accurate field documentation (notes, photo logs, chain‑of‑custody forms) and organize environmental and laboratory data for reporting;
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, tables, and figures, and communicate findings clearly to project managers and senior staff;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating strong attention to detail, organization, and effective communication skills;
  • Demonstrate a flexible, safety‑conscious approach to fieldwork, supported by a relevant degree, 1–5 years of experience (preferred), technical field/computer skills (e.g., MS Office, GPS, GIS), and willingness to travel with a valid driver’s license.
What Makes You Unique
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field;
  • Eligibility for registration as an Engineer‑in‑Training, Geoscientist‑in‑Training, or related professional designation would be considered an asset;
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or regulatory agencies;
  • A strong interest in building practical experience across multiple areas of environmental consulting;
  • A willingness to complete a variety of field assignments in changing weather, terrain, and site conditions;
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep organized field notes, sample records, and data tables;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a project team;
  • A practical, flexible, and safety‑conscious approach to fieldwork;
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Experience with GPS, field tablets, GIS, CAD, data management, or environmental sampling equipment would be considered an asset;
  • Ability to successfully complete background checks and security screening, as required;
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as required.
