Job summary

Canacre is seeking an Environmental Construction Manager to oversee daily environmental compliance activities and a team of Environmental Monitors during energy project construction. The role includes field oversight, coordination with regulators, and ensuring adherence to the Environmental Management System and permit conditions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in daily management of construction monitoring personnel.
• Experience related to transmission line and renewable energy construction would be an asset.
• Leadership of field programs and coordination with field teams.
• Commitment to ongoing learning in environmental regulatory issues and energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily environmental compliance activities and environmental monitoring.
• Provide onsite monitoring and coordination (25-50% remote field work).
• Ensure implementation of mitigation measures from EIA-related plans and permits.
• Prepare field reports for consistency and accuracy.
• Develop corrective actions for environmental issues or hazards.
• Lead the environmental team within the construction project.
