Job summary

Canacre is seeking an Environmental Construction Manager to oversee daily environmental compliance activities and manage a team of Environmental Monitors during energy project construction. The role requires coordinating with regulators, construction personnel, and clients while ensuring adherence to the Environmental Management System and permit conditions.

The ideal candidate will lead field programs, conduct site inspections in remote locations, and travel 25–50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Experience in daily management of construction monitoring personnel.
• Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local permitting and regulations in the energy sector.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% to remote field locations and work in rugged environments.
• Experience with wildlife surveys or avian surveys is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily environmental compliance activities, including monitoring, surveys, and permit compliance.
• Provide field oversight of Environmental Monitors and coordinate with regulators and stakeholders.
• Prepare and review field reports for consistency and accuracy.
• Develop corrective actions and mitigation measures for identified issues or hazards.
• Lead environmental team and act as environmental liaison for the construction team and client.
