What you will be doing

1. Monitor the implementation of environmental aspects of the project daily, under the direction of the Environmental Manager.
2. Ensure compliance with all project requirements, including the project agreement, environmental assessment, and applicable environmental laws.
3. Prepare reports summarizing environmental issues and deficiencies, along with corrective and preventative measures.
4. Maintain and update the compliance table monthly.
5. Liaise with the environmental team and construction contractor; attend meetings to provide updates to the client.
6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting environmental inspections, monitoring, and ensuring compliance.
• Experience with the MTO Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual 2005.
• Experience with major transit/infrastructure projects in Ontario.
• Knowledge of methods, approaches, and best management practices related to environmental and ESC inspections.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Leadership skills to manage a multi-disciplinary team effectively.
