What you will be doing
  • Monitor the implementation of environmental aspects of the project on a daily basis, under the direction of the Environmental Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all project requirements including the project agreement, environmental assessment, and applicable environmental law.
  • Prepare reports summarizing environmental issues and deficiencies and associated corrective and preventative measures.
  • Maintain and update the compliance table monthly.
  • Liaise with the environmental team and construction contractor and attend meetings to provide updates to the client.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an Environmental or relevant discipline (environmental science, ecology, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting environmental inspections, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Experience with the MTO Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual 2005.
  • Experience with major transit/infrastructure projects in Ontario.
  • Knowledge of methods, approaches, and best management practices related to environmental inspections and ESC inspections.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-demand, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership managing a multi-discipline team.
