As anEnvironmental Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring thatorganizations comply with environmental regulations and standards. Your rolewill be crucial in monitoring environmental practices, conducting inspections,and promoting sustainable practices within the jurisdiction.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforcecompliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulationsand standards.
  • Conduct inspections andaudits of facilities and operations to assess adherence to environmentallaws and regulations.
  • Review and analyzeenvironmental impact assessments, reports, and permit applications toensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and supportto organizations and stakeholders on environmental regulations, bestpractices, and compliance strategies.
  • Investigate and respond toenvironmental complaints and violations, taking appropriate enforcementactions as needed.
  • Prepare and maintaindetailed reports and documentation related to inspections, compliance, andenforcement activities.
  • Collaborate with otherregulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community groups toaddress environmental issues and promote sustainability.
  • Stay updated on changes in environmentalregulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure effective complianceand enforcement.
Requirements
  • Relevant certification ordiploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a relatedfield.
  • Proven experience as anenvironmental compliance officer, environmental inspector, or in a similarrole, with a strong understanding of environmental regulations andstandards.
  • Excellent analytical skillsfor assessing environmental practices and identifying compliance issues.
  • Strong communication skillsfor interacting with organizations, regulatory agencies, and the public.
  • Detail-oriented with strongorganizational skills for managing inspections, reports, and compliancerecords.
  • Ability to stay current with evolvingenvironmental regulations, industry practices, and sustainability initiatives.
