The role involves managing complex archaeological projects, liaising with clients and regulatory bodies, and supervising staff. Environmental Assessment Archaeology Manager
TMHC Inc. is currently recruiting for one or more individuals to manage projects and retainer clients within the Environmental Assessment Division. We are seeking individuals with demonstrated expertise and years of experience with managing highly complex and faced-paced projects within a group setting acting in a higher-level managerial role. However we will consider applicants with an exemplary track record of managing archaeological projects in a variety of settings and at different stages in their career path.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of our London Ontario office with the possibility of a hybrid or virtual working arrangement. Based on the applicants who express interest more than one position may be filled.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and role at a project unit or division management level ($81000 to $100000 per annum) based on a 40-hour work week.
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience managing archaeological projects
Applicants seeking higher-level managerial roles should have 5 to 10 years of project management and staff supervisory experience
Responsibilities
The chosen applicant(s) would be responsible for overall archaeological project management including :
Engaging with clients Indigenous communities and the regulatory bodies to develop or oversee workplans budgets and project schedules to ensure projects move successfully from start to completion
Supervising staff working in a variety of roles (field supervisor logistics coordinator artifact analyst researcher) to complete projects in a timely fashion
Contributing to corporate templates and process development and
Supporting professional development of all staff during the completion of project tasks.
Commensurate with qualifications and years of experience individuals in higher-level managerial roles would also be responsible for :
Managing or co-managing various facets of TMHCs Environmental Assessment Division involving :
o Assuming high-level oversight of staff within a Unit or Division (day-to-day task and project assignments recruitment and hiring employee professional and leadership development performance coaching and tracking issue mediation and resolution)
o Managing retainer contracts and client relationships
o Leading the development of unit processes templates and best practices
o Preparing overseeing approving the creation of project proposals and budgets
o Time- and budget-tracking and remediation and
o Overseeing the development of and enacting quality control practices.
Qualifications and Skills
Valid Professional (P) License issued by the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM)
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Archaeology or related discipline
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel Word and Outlook)
Ability to produce high-quality work in a faced-paced environment
Strength in accuracy and attention to detail and adhering to timelines
Ability to think critically and strategically
Proactive problem-solving
Strong organization skills demonstrated adaptability and high-degree of autonomy and self-motivation
