As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, promoting sustainable solutions, and mitigating environmental risks. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to embed environmental considerations into every stage of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Environmental Compliance & Legislation: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, permits, and company policies. Keep abreast of changes in environmental law and industry best practices, advising project teams accordingly.
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS): Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Environmental Management System (e.g., ISO 14001). Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with project activities (e.g., waste, water pollution, noise, vibration, air quality, biodiversity). Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies and environmental control measures. Investigate environmental incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advice & Support: Provide expert environmental advice and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Promote environmental awareness through training and toolbox talks.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive environmental reports, documentation, and performance data for internal and external stakeholders. Manage environmental permits, licenses, and consent applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies (e.g., Environment Agency, Natural England), local authorities, and community groups on environmental matters. Support the development of positive relationships with environmental stakeholders.
