Job description

Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager reporting to the Director of Facilities EHS & IT, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.

This role requires a strong background in environmental health and safety management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first-line leadership support and integrate employee activities across environmental, occupational health, and safety disciplines.
  2. Manage activities including planning and implementation of environmental, occupational health, safety, ergonomic, disability management, and industrial athlete programs; promote incident and injury-free (IIF) safety culture.
  3. Develop and execute departmental plans, policies, and procedures; contribute to business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
  4. Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  6. Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes.
  7. Manage, develop, and motivate employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite at our Winnipeg, Manitoba site.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • At least 5 years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management, including coaching, teaching, and mentoring.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions.
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Legal ability to work in Canada.
  • No security risk related to safeguarding controlled goods.
  • Eligibility to handle US export-controlled data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Managerial experience managing a team.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven track record of compliance with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health, WCB, OSHA, FAA, and other standards.
  • CRSP designation (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or other relevant professional designations.

  • This is a first shift position, with occasional requirement to work other shifts.
  • This is a locally hired position in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada, not Boeing US payroll. No expatriate assignment.
