Job description

We are looking for people interested in learning and developing their careers in a light, wood finishing manufacturing company for our client located in Surrey.

This is a permanent full-time position with a company that was founded in 1971 and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Our client provides Western Canada with high-quality semi-custom cabinets.

The successful candidate will be trained in assembly, dovetail fabrication, cabinet making, and paint finishing.

You will:

  • Read and understand work orders and other production paperwork
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance of tools, work areas, and equipment
  • Understand the metric system
  • Lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Work independently and within a team environment
  • Meet daily production expectations to maintain workflow
  • Learn other aspects of manufacturing
  • Coordinate and communicate with coworkers, team leaders, and other departments
  • Maintain a positive, can-do team attitude
  • In finishing, load/unload parts on the finishing line, sand MDF primer doors and solid wood doors in preparation for staining
  • In fabrication, operate machines such as panel saws, chop saws, and perform dovetail fabrication
  • In assembly, assemble prefabricated parts on an assembly line or at workbenches using screw guns, staple guns, clamp machines, and other hand tools
  • Perform other duties as delegated by management
