The starting annual salary for this full-time School Teacher position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

ATS is a Traditional school with a uniform dress code and intentional work on responsibility and respect.

The successful applicant will teach Entrepreneurship 12, Explorations 6-8 (music), Drama 9 and Band 9-12.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts with Major/Minor in Music
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience in Band, Music, Drama, Entrepreneurship at the Middle School level
  • Major practicum/work experience in Music at the Middle School level
  • Secondary or middle teacher training with university level music training
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports

  • Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.
  • Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students' interest, effort, participation, and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning
  • Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives
  • Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
