Job description

As an enterprise solutions architect you will lead and support EA activities that guide the development and management of solutions across the enterprise. Solutions include projects, systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services and shared application services. You will understand the concepts of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in solution architecture. You will provide the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. You will create deliverables for managing the organization's portfolio of "to be" and "as is" solutions — including systems (applications, processes, information, and technology), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services and components to enable and drive targeted business outcomes.

What We Offer:

  • Work Environment - Work in our beautiful home office building with access to a fitness facility, onsite nurse, and a café
  • Hybrid Work Model – Allows for a blend of in-office and work-from-home days
  • Competitive Compensation – Including an annual bonus plan, pension plan, and parking allowance
  • Flexible Benefits Plan – Including medical and dental benefits that are both in effect from day one
  • Paid Vacation – Plus an annual option to purchase additional vacation, too
  • Wellness Support – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance Program
  • Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation matching program
Your Responsibilities:
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and document all solution architecture design and analysis work
  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes
  • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements
  • Support product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services, or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information
  • Develop a roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise solution portfolio from current to future state, as defined by the solutions architecture
  • Work closely with the project management office (PMO) to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle
  • Provide consulting support to application architects to ensure the project or product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture
  • Provide deliverables like standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to support architectural governance to assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and IT estate
  • Define the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision
Your Skills:
  • Organizationally savvy, with the ability to navigate organizational politics
  • Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making
  • Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and IT teams
  • Technology neutral: remains unbiased toward any specific technology or vendor choice, and is more interested in results than personal preferences
  • Ability to lead and coordinate solutions architects across the enterprise including driving adoption of architecture frameworks, standards and tools
Your Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, prioritizing on business and application architecture
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences
  • Knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network, and security
  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps)
  • Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Understanding and knowledge of architecture framework such as TOGAF
  • Knowledge of different modeling languages (such as BPMN and ArchiMate)
