About the Role

As the Enterprise Sales Manager for Caper, you will own a portfolio of global enterprise retailers to strategically sell Caper cart expansions and deepen in-store relationships. You will lead end-to-end expansion sales strategies, collaborating closely with BD Retail and Connected Stores leadership. You will work with internal teams like Product, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Ops, and Partnerships to refine strategies and develop external communications to create win-win outcomes for Caper and retailers. This is an individual contributor role with significant growth potential as the business expands internationally. We seek candidates enthusiastic about Caper, smart cart technology, and the future of in-store customer experiences.

About the Team

The Market Strategy & Planning team at Instacart connects internal teams and BD Retail. We develop go-to-market strategies, conduct analyses, and provide strategic recommendations for innovative offerings. When offerings are complex, we lead solution sales and expansions directly to retailers. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team within Business Development.

About the Job
  1. Own responsibility for strategically selling Caper expansions into key enterprise retailers.
  2. Collaborate with Business Development to design and implement expansion strategies that drive revenue growth.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in Caper.
  4. Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to retailers. Negotiate and close complex contracts.
  5. Work with Connected Stores MS&P and Caper sales to enhance go-to-market strategies.
  6. Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Partnerships to develop innovative solutions that deliver results.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years’ experience in the grocery or retail space with cutting-edge challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—able to simplify complex ideas.
  • Self-starter capable of driving progress independently across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience selling or expanding high-tech products/services in retail.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales/OKR targets.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid business changes.
  • Strong technical skills, understanding APIs, databases, and integration tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with hardware and software products.
  • Exposure to supply chain, in-store advertising, retail labor management, and front-end operations.

Instacart offers competitive compensation and benefits. This role is remote, with the base pay range depending on location. We currently hire in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. The pay range for Canadian candidates is CAD 140,000—155,000, and includes a Sales Incentive Plan, potential equity grants, and annual refresh grants. More details on benefits can be found here.
