Job description

You'll be joining the International New Verticals team : a small but mighty group of passionate business development, marketing, strategy and operations professionals. We are trusted e-commerce advisors to some of the largest global retailers, helping them drive top-line growth on both the DoorDash marketplace, and their own channels.

We support our merchant’s broader omnichannel strategy, helping them find new ways to acquire, engage with and retain customers. We also love helping our partners solve their operational issues at the lowest level of detail; no job is too big or too small.

Our team sits at the intersection of two key growth pillars for DoorDash : international markets and new business verticals, so we play a critical role in bolstering our leadership in every market in which we operate.

About the Role

Our New Verticals business is still in its infancy and it’s an exciting time to join us if you want to be part of helping us build a cutting edge retail e-commerce platform. This is a unique opportunity for you to build and own a new space in Canada. We are looking for an enterprising leader who can thrive in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment, while still being able to manage clients and prioritize across multiple projects.

You will report to an Enterprise Pod Lead who focuses either on Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol or Core Retail partners. We expect this role to be flexible with mostly remote work, some time in-office and occasional travel required.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you…

Will own and support relationships with our most strategic partners, and will be directly responsible for their success. No two days are the same; you could be :

  • leading business reviews with your partner’s senior leadership,
  • working with internal product teams to ensure we’re prioritizing the right features for our merchants, dashers & customers,
  • project managing the roll out of new launches, particularly store expansions across the country,
  • designing marketing and promotional campaigns for new, returning or churned customers,
  • analyzing operational metrics to identify trends and insights to advise a merchant, cross-functional partners, or both
  • getting into the field to do a test delivery,
  • gathering insights on consumer behavior and shopping patterns, or
  • leading special projects to drive operational efficiency for your partners

We’re excited about you because you…

  • Have 3-5 years of high-impact experience preferably in a client-management role (examples include consulting, banking, account management, or marketing).
  • You are fully bilingual (English / French) and can hold business & technical conversations with merchant partners in both languages.
  • Have strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, and steer conversations (including difficult ones) at all levels of an organization
  • Are a team player with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional partners to experiment, potentially fail and quickly pivot to try new initiatives
  • Need to know how things work and are not afraid to get under the hood; you’re not satisfied with a status quo answer that seems broken or inefficient
  • Are a thoughtful, structured problem solver, who can breakdown and isolate key drivers
  • Have a track record of ‘building stuff’; you like to propose, experiment and implement ideas to make processes more efficient. We’re writing the playbook for New Verticals, and you’re a co-author.
  • Have an owner mentality and step up to drive multiple concurrent projects forward with minimal supervisionAre analytically minded, have strong data analysis skills and always use data to ground your decisions and make your case.
  • Nice to haves :
  • Experience in the convenience, grocery or alcohol industry
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Salesforce, Tableau, Sigma
  • High-growth startup experience
  • French
