Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Business Architectto support the enhancement and modernization of a government informationmanagement solution and the update of its Enterprise Architecture.
The Business Architect will assess business capabilities,define target business outcomes, optimize business processes, and develop keyEnterprise Architecture deliverables required for governance approvals.
The role will support modernization activities, includingcentralized data storage using Databricks and Azure Storage, public-facing dataexchange capabilities, and a cloud-based data processing and analyticsplatform. The Business Architect will lead the development of businessarchitecture artifacts and ensure alignment with enterprise standards andgovernance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Work Arrangement: This is an on-site assignmentrequiring candidates to be present in the office five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzegovernment information pertinent to business architecture.
- Consultwith appropriate government contacts on specific business architectureelements and conduct focus group workshops.
- Developand maintain enterprise business capabilities in line with corporatestrategy while contributing to business strategy and plans.
- Developand revise business architecture artifacts as part of the EnterpriseInformation Architecture Federated Framework and ensure verticalintegration.
- Modelbusiness at enterprise and/or core business levels.
- Designcapability models and related architectural solutions for business tasks,mapping capability functionality to internal and external resources.
- Developbusiness transformation plans jointly with senior business management.
- Handlebusiness solutions through delivery and operational business functions.
- Developand maintain architectural governance and implementation controls.
- Contributeto the development of enterprise blueprints for each step of the businesstransformation plan to promote a shared understanding of the organizationand alignment between strategic objectives and tactical demands.
- Workcollaboratively with senior IT Business Architecture leadership, projectleads, product management, solution and service design, QA, businessanalysts, subject matter experts, and other project team members.
- Supportenterprise architecture governance engagements and review processes.
- TotalIT experience of at least 10 years, including 5 years of BusinessArchitecture experience on large, complex projects.
- Excellentcommunication, concept visualization, facilitation, stakeholdermanagement, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills.
- Experiencecollaborating with executives and senior management.
- Successfullycompleted Business and Information Architectures at enterprise and/or corebusiness levels for government or large organizations.
- Contributedto successful transformation of government or large organization programdelivery by applying Business Architecture practices.
- Abilityto work across projects within a portfolio and across portfolios.
- Experienceleading project teams through enterprise engagement processes.
- Provenability to design optimized future-state versions of business areas.
- Provenability in horizontal business integration, including identifying commonelements and delineation points.
- Knowledgeof or experience with Government of Ontario Information TechnologyStandards (GO-ITS) for Architecture.
- Experiencedeveloping business architectures using Ontario Government EnterpriseArchitecture methodologies and GO-ITS.
- Developmentof Program Area Business Architecture and corresponding BusinessArchitecture Documentation (BAD) according to OPS standards and industrybest practices.
