Job Description

The Strategy and Architecture Branch of the IT Division (ITD) seeks a seasoned Enterprise Architect to join the team. The IT Division aims to mature capabilities in technology and services planning, strategy development, application and technology portfolio management, enterprise risk management, and technology governance, policies, and standards.

The Enterprise Architect will play a key role in developing business and IT strategies, architectural governance frameworks, enterprise-level strategic plans, and management initiatives. The resource will collaborate closely with the Director of Architecture, senior leadership within ITD and GOS ministries, and other teams to ensure alignment with government and ministry priorities and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and align enterprise architecture outcomes with government priorities.
  • Contribute to maturing capabilities within the IT Division.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and teams to develop strategic roadmaps.
  • Ensure architecture governance frameworks are in place and effective.
  • Develop long-term enterprise-level strategic plans and manage related initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with North American Public Sector Organizations.
  • Proven experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and practice development across all domains (Business, Information, Application, Technology, Security).
  • Experience with multi-year capital and operating budget planning, including total cost of ownership projections.
  • Expertise in enterprise architecture and IT strategy development.
  • Ability to facilitate enterprise planning and develop consolidated roadmaps.
  • Knowledge of architectural governance frameworks and aligning IT strategies with business needs.
  • Experience in creating long-term strategic plans and managing initiatives.
Certifications

Certification in TOGAF or newer, with details of version and certification date. Validation through The Open Group website.

  • Three references: client name, title/position, email, phone number, and relationship to candidate.
Additional Notes

This is a Canadian opportunity. Preference for Canadian personnel with government experience. Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Architect in the North American public sector is required. Remote work is not available; on-site presence is mandatory. Relocation is accepted.
